If you are unwell and have recently travelled to an area affected by Coronavirus or met someone who has, please DO NOT visit the surgery.  Please call 111 who will then advise you.  If you are advised to contact us, please call and tell the receptionist of your possible Coronavirus contact.

Everyone in the practice now has a named GP.  If you are unsure who yours is then please ask at reception, but please remember that you can still see whichever GP you prefer.

Closed Circuit Television is installed at the practice premises for the purpose of staff, patient and premises security. Cameras are located at various places on the premises, and images from the camera are recorded.  The practice follows the recommendations issued by the Data Protection Commissioner in accordance with powers under Section 51 of the 1998 Data protection Act.

Accessible Information Standard

The Accessible information standard is a new law to make sure that people who have a disability or sensory loss are given information they can easily read or understand.  Please inform us if you have any communication support needs.

For further information about the standard and a form you can fill in to let us know if you have communication support needs in the column on the right hand side of our website under the Accessible Information heading.

Repeat Prescriptionsmedication7

You can order online via the link at the top of this page, or you can order by post, fax (Poringland 01508 495371 Hempnall 01508 498315) or by dropping in your repeat prescription in person. We also operate an automatic ordering service for some patients. Please ask the dispenser if you are suitable for this service.

Please avoid collecting your prescriptions outside opening hours.

Text Service

We now offer a texting service where we can text information regarding your prescriptions, including:

  • when your prescription is ready to collect.
  • if there is a problem with your repeat order.
  • when your prescription has been sent to the chemist and any other useful information.

There is a prescription collection service operated by three local pharmacies if we do not dispense your medication.

Unused Medicines

Please do not store unused medicines, they can be returned to the surgery for safe disposal.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

EPS - Electronic Prescription Service

The Electronic Prescription Service is now available at this practice.  If you are a non-dispensing patient you can now have your repeat prescriptions sent electronically to a pharmacist of your choice without the need for you to pick up the paper prescription.  This could save you the patient time and has the advantage of being traceable by the practice (we can see when it has arrived and been picked up by the pharmacist).  For more information look at
