Everyone in the practice now has a named GP. If you are unsure who yours is then please ask at reception, but please remember that you can still see whichever GP you prefer.
Closed Circuit Television is installed at the practice premises for the purpose of staff, patient and premises security. Cameras are located at various places on the premises, and images from the camera are recorded. The practice follows the recommendations issued by the Data Protection Commissioner in accordance with powers under Section 51 of the 1998 Data protection Act.
Accessible Information Standard
The Accessible information standard is a new law to make sure that people who have a disability or sensory loss are given information they can easily read or understand. Please inform us if you have any communication support needs.

In addition to GP consultations the practice adheres offers a range of clinics and healthcare services:
Diabetes - once you have been diagnosed with diabetes you will have regular check-ups with the practice nurse and doctor. Normally you are seen twice a year.
Asthma - the practice nurses run the asthma clinics within the practice. The doctors and nurse practitioners will also see you if you have an acute problem. If you are using inhalers for asthma you should be seen at least once a year by the nurse.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - the practice nurses run clinics for patients with COPD. The doctors or nurse practitioners will also see you if you have an acute problem with your breathing. Patients with this disease should be seen at least once a year
Coronary Heart Disease - people who have had heart problems are seen at least twice a year by the doctor or pratice nurse. Prior to seeing the nurse or doctor a blood sample is taken and your urine is tested.
Contraception - currently the practice provides an implanon fitting service along with all other forms of contraception. We do not insert Intra Uterine devices here but can refer you to the family planning clinic.
Lifestyle -including help and advice on exercise, weight, smoking, alcohol and diet and cholesterol. We have a dietician that comes to our Hempnall surgery once every two weeks. A referral to her can be made by your GP or nurse practitioner.
Blood Pressure - we have a number of home omrons that we loan out to our patients. This gives you the ability to check your blood pressure readings over the course of a week. Following the request from one of the clinicians, your name will be put on a waiting list for one of the machines. When one of them becomes available, we will get in contact with you.

Anticoagulation Check - weekly clinics are run at both sites for anticoagulation monitoring. We offer a simple procedure to check INR’s and prescribe the necessary anticoagulation.
Ear syringing - our practice nurses help treat patients who need their ears syringing. We ask patients that are wishing to have their ears syringed to put olive oil in for 2 weeks prior to having an appointment.

Midwifery - all the doctors provide full midwifery services and our attached midwives from the Wherry Team can be contacted via the telephone number in the maternity pack.
This practice does not offer Travel Advice or Clinics.
If you are travelling abroad you should:-
1. Log onto a website such as https://onlinedoctor.lloydspharmacy.com/uk/travel-vaccinations or https://onlinedoctor.superdrug.com/travel/ to get advice and perhaps make an appointment for vaccinations if required or you could contact a pharmacy such as Superdrug or Boots via the internet to book a private travel clinic appointment. You will be charged a small consultation fee which is often reimbursable if you require private vaccination.
2. You might also like to go onto a travel website, either http://www.fitfortravel.scot.nhs.uk/ or http://www.mastatravelhealth.com/ and print off the advice sheet for the area you are visiting, or you could ring MASTA on 0330 1004200.
3. You will need to know what vaccines you have had in the past. If you do not have your own record then ask a receptionist to produce a computer print out of what we have recorded.
4. You will be charged for each private vaccination and anti-malarial tablets but if you prefer to have vaccines which are available under the NHS here then please ask for a list of those required. We are happy to administer these free NHS vaccinations on the Travel Clinics recommendation, just book a 10 minute nurse appointment. Our nurses will not give any travel advice during this consultation; you get substantial advice from the Travel Clinic. Vaccines available under the NHS which are sometimes used for travel are Hepatitis A, Tetanus, Polio, Diphtheria, Typhoid and MMR.
